Kristi Kaeppel

Kristi Kaeppel, Ph.D. is a Learning Designer at Brown University and Instructor of Adult Education at Holyoke Community College. Previously, she worked as an Assistant Professor of Education at St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies. She received her PhD in Adult Learning from the University of Connecticut. Her academic and research interests include the impacts of women's friendships in academic and workplace environments, critical thinking instruction and learning in adult and higher education settings, and fostering student agency and autonomy.

Emma Bjorngard Basayne

Emma Bjorngard Basayne, Ph.D. (she/her/hers) is the Advising Center Operations Director & Academic Advisor in the College of Education at the University of Oregon. Emma received her undergraduate degree in Philosophy from California State University Long Beach and her MA and PhD in Philosophy from the University of Connecticut. Emma also earned an MS in Counselor Education with a Specialization in Student Development in Higher Education from Central Connecticut State University. As an Academic Advisor, Emma takes a personal interest in the students she works with and empowers them to develop their unique talents and perspectives relating to their academic, personal, and professional goals. Emma is Saami (the indigenous people from a land region stretching over parts of Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Russia), and she was born and raised in Sweden.
