Write for GAIN
Share your story!
GAIN is dedicated to sharing the voices and experiences of women, non-binary, and trans people in higher education with the community! Thus, we are looking for women, non-binary, and trans people to contribute to our community with their knowledge, skills, and expertise. We invite you to share your voice in a variety of ways:
Top Ten Feature: Make a top ten list of your favorites (resources, books, tips, etc.) on a specific topic to share with the GAIN community.
Hot Topic: Take a stand on a current issue in higher education or in the larger community and share how GAIN members can become better informed and get involved.
Values Feature: GAIN's 7 values are equity, advocacy, celebration, inclusivity, community, education, and leadership. Choose a value and write about what this means to you in your work and in your life in general.
Q&A Feature: Allow the GAIN Community to get to know you by taking time to answer OWHE's template of questions about yourself.
"Shout Out" Feature: Celebrate an accomplishment of a member of the GAIN Community by writing about the success!
My Journey Feature: Take the traditional GAIN route and submit a 1000-1200 word essay about your own journey. This may also include any advice you'd like to share with the GAIN community.
Submission Guidelines:
Written submissions should be between 1000-1200 words long (excluding the Q&A Feature).
Authors should submit a profile picture or related image to include with the publication.
You must fill out a survey to indicate your interest to write for GAIN.
We plan to list your name, pronouns, institution, position, and work email address on the blog unless otherwise negotiated.
Submission deadlines will be negotiated with the Director of Education after you complete the volunteer survey.
To volunteer to write, please fill out the survey!
