Be Less Racist: 6 things you can do today to be a better ally and accomplice
In this presentation we name problematic behaviors that white people engage in often, consciously and unconsciously, and provide tools for interrupting those behaviors, both when we notice ourselves as well as others engaging in them. We will share a script to facilitate time during the session for low stakes role-playing. This will provide participants an opportunity to practice and become more comfortable speaking aloud words that actively interrupt exclusionary behaviors and create a more inclusive environment. We will also explore the importance of showing gratitude for being called out ourselves.
