Propose an Educational Session!
Share Your Knowledge and Passion with the GAIN Community!
Yearlong Educational Opportunities can include hosting a webinar, leading a workshop, writing a blog post for GAIN, or any other opportunities you’d like to engage in to deliver professional development and educational experience to the GAIN community. You can submit proposals for these opportunities year long and our Co-Director of Education, Megan Simón, will work with you to prepare your session and introduce it to the GAIN community.
Session Examples:
Webinar
One or Two-day Workshops
Blog posts
Book Clubs
Theme Examples:
Disability Awareness and Accommodations Training: This training can educate participants on disability issues, accessibility, and accommodations to ensure that the campus is inclusive for students and staff with disabilities.
Creating Inclusive Syllabi Workshop: This workshop can guide faculty in creating syllabi that reflect a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in course content and delivery.
Intersectionality in Higher Education Webinar: This webinar can explore the concept of intersectionality and its relevance in understanding the experiences of marginalized groups within higher education.
This is how it works:
Come up with an idea for a session. It can be a carryover from presentations you gave for other organizations or trainings or seminars you have given on your campus.
See if your session aligns with the GAIN mission and values.
Submit a proposal by filling out the Proposal Form.
Your proposal will go through a committee’s review process.
If your proposal is accepted, you’ll work with the Co-Director of Education to finalize the presentation content.
Go live with the session on the selected date using Zoom technology. You’ll work with GAIN’s Co-Director of Education, Megan Simón, to set up and get ready for the webinar.
If you have questions or if you would like to collaborate on webinar content and objectives, please contact the Directors of Education at education@gainhighered.org.
Thanks! We hope to hear from you soon!
